Bayern München ‘cleaned the clock’ of sinking-quickly Hertha Berlin in the German capital yesterday evening, out-playing the Berliners in all aspects of the game winning 0-6.

This after earlier in the last week having won 7-1 against Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga last weekend and then winning 7-0 against Swiss Basel FC in the Champions league in the middle of the week.

9th International Football Film Festival begins today in Berlin, 9-13 March – Cinema Babylon Berlin:Mitte

This leading football film festival will kick off this evening March 9th with “We are the Champions”, the legendary German goalkeeper and Coach Sepp Maier’s video diary of the 1990 World Cup – with never before screened images from inside the World Cup winning squad.

The film Polish director Kornel Migluss movie, ‘The Frankfurt Water Fight/ Wasserschlacht von Frankfurt’ will also be screened tonight – again featuring Sepp Maier in a leading role.

Rehhagel and Hertha book important first win – beat Werder Bremen 1-0 ‘- by Filip van der Plas

Hertha Berlin was able to celebrate just a little yesterday after their home win, and actually obtain some highly needed points – the first with newly appointed coach Otto Rehhagel.

The 3 points are the first from this year and hopefully will be the first of many such wins – or even ties will do – in order to avoid relegation again next season.

Champions’ League Round-Up 14th&15th February

The Champions’ league returned to our screens with a bang on Valentine’s Day, after the Winter break. The knock-out stages began with the first-legs of the last 16 ties, as the best clubs in Europe entered the home straight in the race to be crowned Champions’ League winners for 2011/12.
